Off to Houston...

Roanin and I took a quick trip to Houston to visit Ashlee, Jason and Jackson(22 months). We had a great time, and Roanin did fairly well riding solo with me on the trip there. The trip home was a little more crazy (considering I took a few wrong turns, Roanin tripped and fell on his forhead on the ground at a gas station stop, and Roanin was teething 2 molars). Overall...the trip was a success.Jack and Roanin went up the hill, to fetch a pail of water...come on-- you know the rest.
It stormed a little while we were there. The boys were not happy about not being able to venture into the great outdoors during any rain.

They haven't quite figured out that if they both pushed from the same side that the bus would go A LOT faster.
This picture totally sums up the two nights we spent there. As you can see, neither boy is looking at either camera. Ashlee is dying laughing on the other side while frantically trying to get a half-way decent picture of these little munchkins. Roanin is hurling a ball (please note that it is in mid air) toward my head. And to top it off..the picture is out of focus. This is what happened 98% of the time. Ahh....gotta love little boys.

The Fisher's have a beautiful pool, so the boys spent a lot of time outside swimming. Here is Roanin (in the buff as usual) taking a small snack break in between laps.

Another telling picture. The boys were obsessed with running full boar around the living room chasing each other, screaming, racing, and Roanin even tried out a little wrestle-mania as well (Jack was not a fan).

Sun, surf, AND sand...what a trip!

Roanin trying out the sand with his tip toe before he actually commits to playing in the box.

This is what we all felt like at the end of the visit.
Thanks for a great time Ashlee, Jason and Cracker Jack! We love you guys!

Life on the farm...

One of Roanin's favorite activities this summer has been feeding all the animals at my parent's house. He loves it. If I ask him if he wants to go see the deer and the chicks, he will grab me around the neck (so I will pick him up) and just keep saying "chick, chick, chick, chick..." It is so cute to see. Roanin loves to help put the corn in the feeder. Here he is giving Buckley his dinner. The Little Man showing mommy where the llama is.

Buckley: "Dude, I don't mean to get into your business, but what is up with that weird lady taking all the pictures? What, is she like paparazzi?"
Roanin: "Kind of. The trick is to just act like she isn't there. Whatever you do...just don't look at the camera and eventually she gets frustrated and will stop."

Roanin inspecting the goods.

Buckley is what the deer-wise call "in-velvet" which means he is growing his new set of antlers for the winter. Roanin thinks they are HILARIOUS.

Buckley: "Dude, are you gonna look at the camera? I thought we weren't supposed to."

My lil' country boy.

Another favorite is chasing the peacocks around trying to feed them corn. They are semi-annoyed with the Little Man.

When he can't convince the peacocks to eat out of his hand, he likes to make a little pile for them so he can watch and wait to pounce. This is Baby Doe. I am sad to announce that she passed away last night. This picture is so special, because I took it just about 2 weeks ago. She had some form of pneumonia and couldn't shake it. We all loved her so much and will miss her sweet kisses.

Almost got him to look at the camera for the money shot, but to no avail. I will probably be fired.
Taking a much needed break on Grandma and Papa's bed. Just using the camera as a footrest.

Happy Father's Day

Shawn, you are the best daddy I could have ever imagined for RoRo and for all of our little animals. Roanin loves you more than anything. Thank you for all you do for us and for making our dreams come true. We love you.

3rd Date

Last weekend we spent some time at the river with our good friends, Rusty and Ali and their cutie-pie Jaycie. This was Roanin's 3rd date with Jaycie...and he was a big fan of having a cute little girl to play with on his turf. Jaycie tried to give him a kiss several times, which he wasn't so sure about...but I think he just likes to play hard to get. That is my boy....he likes fast strollers and fast women.

It was love at first sight (although I think I might see a little judgement in Jaycie's look toward Roanin's milk belly). Jaycie: "...And this is how I keep my hands so nice and soft. The sand works as a natural exfoliater!"

Roanin: "Huh? I was just wondering if you had a snack in your hands or not."

Surveying the water....scouting where to conquer next.

The boys took the kiddos in the deeper water. I thought they loved it....but their faces tell a different story. Funny that both Rusty and Shawn are smiling and laughing and the kids look so disheveled.

Jaycie and her main man in what she kept calling "the waters."

Stealing a flirty glance Jaycie's way.

We attempted to have the two little ones end the evening in a bath together (I know...a little racy for the 3rd date, but 1 year olds don't mess around) but as you can see, Roanin was not a fan. This picture is hilarious because he totally looks like he is NOT comfortable bathing with Jaycie, and even looks to be covering up private stuff...but in actuality he was just so tired he couldn't handle anymore.

Thanks for hanging out you guys...we had fun!
