Daddy and Roanin have been spending some good quality time together lately, which has included several walks down to the river to try out Roanin's fishing pole. Surprisingly, both recent fishing trips have yielded a catch by Mr. Man...all on his own!

Aunt Steph came to stay with us for almost a week when Rex was 2 weeks old. She came to help...is it apparent that I need help since I am just now getting around to posting a picture of that? Ugh...
Daddy and Roanin did a little investigating to see what it would be like to drill into a coconut and drink the juice, and to crack it open and eat the meat inside. Turns out Mr. Man doesn't really care for the juice...can you tell by his face? I got the same look when I had him try an artichoke last night...
Roanin got a new car...despite it's girlie exterior, it it battery powered and he can drive it all by himself. It even has a radio. Our plan is to trick it out with some spray paint and some hydraulics....look for a future post on that one.
Of course, the first thing you do when you get a new car is to take your best girl for a spin. Jaycie, the cute little bug of our good friends Ali and Rusty, came over to take a spin.
It was Shawn's birthday exactly a month after Rex's birth. Here is a picture of Roanin making his present to his daddy...a hand-painted picture frame. Happy Birthday, babe. Thanks for being the best husband and daddy in the world.
Mr. Man has started going to the barber shop with Daddy to get his haircuts. Up until then, I was doing them at home...but the fact that I couldn't even REACH Roanin toward the end of my pregnancy put an end to that. I thought he would hate it - but he loved it! I guess it is because he and Daddy both get a haircut and the fact that they give him bubble gum when he is finished. By the way: the first time he tried the bubble gum, we let him take half a piece and after about 2 minutes we asked how the gum was. "Fine." After about 3 minutes, we asked where the gum was. "Tummy."
Steph's youngest, Maddie, turned 6 this August - which means we traveled to Arlington for a backyard pool party. Roanin LOVED it...especially all the bonding with Maddie.
So, as you can see...it has been a great couple of weeks. Plenty of family bonding, lots of friends, and tons of adventure. Most of it had simply wearing big boy underwear, rain boots, and a cowboy hat, of course.
