Easter a la' Dunsmore

Easter morning (and yes...I am bold enough to actually act like Easter was this past weekend instead of like a month ago) was eventful around our house. Little Man really enjoyed it this year. And I think his parents did too. Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the Easter bed. The discovery of this basket was enough to change the mood....

The Easter Bunny put a bubble machine (translation: best invention EVER) in the basket. It was an instant hit.

Checkin' out the loot.

Just putting some new dino stickers on Mommy's face...you know, like any Easter morning.

We took the bubbles to a serious level outside. You can almost hear the squeals coming from his little mouth just by looking at this picture. Did I mention that this was the best invention ever?

Turns out that fake green Easter egg grass can be fed to fake horses. Who knew?

The same grass works well for covering up Daddy as well. Happy Easter!

Easter...Finally!

We went to my parents on Easter afternoon for a little hunt and some fun....here are some pictures of the afternoon. Just taking an Easter stroll with his cousin, Danielle.

The hunt was on... (please notice how many hands are pointing out the eggs to the little guy -- I never remember receiving so much help. Must be those handsome good looks.)
The threatening look given to anyone coming close to the egg stash.

Mr. Man taking a swing at the pinata my parents got for the occasion. Needless to say, he wasn't the one who ended up busting it open...but did his part to take part in the candy collection.

All the families present went out to take pictures in the bluebonnets. Wouldn't it be my child that in every single shot (SEVEN...count them, seven...) picks his nose? And wouldn't it be all the people taking the pictures to not let the dumb parents in on the hilarious secret until after the picture is taken? Soooo...this is our new version of a family portrait.

We actually got Roanin to grin, instead of pick, when my parents jumped in the picture.

Instead of posing with the bluebonnets...Roanin just pulls them up by the roots. Nice.

Wow. He is so cute, it is shocking.

Grandmom, Papa, and Roanin.

A little snickety snake Papa found to entertain Roanin. It worked.

And by entertain, I mean scared half to death followed by complete amazement.

Wow...I am so far behind on blogging...I still have to post a few Easter pics from our house. More to come....ugh.

The Hunt

Roanin's Mother's Day Out put on an Easter egg hunt for the little ones the week before Easter. Both Shawn and I went to spectate (although upon returning home...I do have to admit that we sampled more than one of the finds.) Let the games begin...
"They actually hid eggs with candy in them for us out here! Don't ask me...let's just HUNT!!"

A quick hi-five to his favorite teacher, Ms. Ann.

After the hunt while the kids were lining up at the door, I caught Roanin slyly checking out everyone else's basket to see if their loot was as good as his.

He gets a little more bold with each glance.

I think he spies something he likes in Evie's basket. Thankfully, no robbery occurred.

Holding onto what can only be explained as a giant kid leash that allows them to take a group of ten 2-year-olds on an extended walk without sheer chaos. What is shocking, is that they all love it and actually hold on for dear life.

3 more months? Really?

Well...as it turns out, two out of the four total people who read the blog have requested a belly shot. So...despite being gigantic and feeling like I have a combination of Jackie Chan and Baby Huey in my belly -- here goes nothin'. Obviously, I ain't scared. After I see this posted, I will realize that perhaps, I should have been.

The Color of Spring

On Good Friday, Roanin and I set out to color some Easter eggs. And color we did....some eggs, some of the table, some shirts, some fingers, and even some wall. Happy Easter! The first dunk...always the best.Scares me how seriously he took the chemistry part.
Eating one of the casualties that hit the floor before being dunked.

The final display, along with the look I got when I asked which egg would be Mommy's.

I wanna be just like Daddy...

This little boy loves his Daddy...and wants nothing more than to be just like him. So...when he discovered his birthday present - he let us know it was perfect. The backseat just wasn't cutting it anymore...

Off, off, and away... (with a little help from Daddy). Now picture Mommy having to spend her weekdays bent over with a baby in the belly pushing this little hoss around. Good times...

Thank you Nana and Grampa!

Roanin received his birthday present from Shawn's parents (Nana and Grampa) and LOVED them! They sent him his very own wheelbarrow, shovel, broom, rake and hoe. He is very into gardening tools, and insists on using the real thing when I work in the garden. Well...as of now, he has his own (and they are nicer than the real thing ones I use by the way). Thanks Nana and Grandpa!"Helping" Daddy with the important job of putting it all together.

"Dad...Mommy said we should follow these...so why haven't you looked at them yet?"

Come on...this look can get him almost anything he wants. Can you blame me?

The first load.
RoRo raking where Mommy planted her peas. I am sure that he will do wonders for them....

The grand finale....helping Daddy unload dirt. Just a normal Saturday around the Dunsmore house.

Viva Sea World

For Roanin's second birthday, we decided to take him to Sea World instead of throwing a party - given our house is still under construction and we didn't figure any of the two-year-olds we would invite to a party would remember much anyway. So....we checked in with Roanin's best friend so far, Mr. Jackson Fisher, to see if he was available and if he could convince his parents to drive him to San Antonio for a little weekend getaway. As it turns out, not only were his parents willing to drive him...they went as far as to bring their newest little cutie, Hayes Rylan, and we all bunked up in a suite for the big event. Let the birthday festivities begin! Reunited and it feels so good.
All aboard for a boat ride on the Riverwalk.

Two little sets of eyes....ready for any information you throw at them.
The newest little Fisher showing off who he got his good looks from.

Roanin's first boat ride had its ups and downs. Obviously a down time.

So much to take in, so little time...

Roanin's face demonstrates how we all felt about the "tour guide" for our little boat ride. I knew it was a problem when we got both two-year-olds loaded on the boat, and I said something to them about this being fun and the guide promptly "shhhhed" me. Really? No talking during a family boat ride down the Riverwalk?

Looks like a little mexican food and a margarita has the same effect on Roanin that it has on his mommy. But hey...it's his birthday -- what do you expect?

Roanin getting into the practice of loving on a little brother. Hayes was an instant hit. I love it! Thanks for the practice Hayseebear.

Three little men with three little trucks.

When we arrived in the morning, it was freezing. This is the group wrapped up in any warm article of clothing we could scrape from both vehicles.

Here fishy, fishy, fishy....

Think we get out much? Shawn brought an actual chain to hook up our beloved strollers to avoid thievery. I love this country boy.

Whoa. That is a lot of fish.

The fantastic Fishers.
I love this picture...just two dads, trying as hard as they can to talk about manly stuff while sporting Baby Bjorns and hand-holding two-year-olds.

Flirting with the flamingos (one of Roanin's favorites). Check out that belly!

All eyes on Shamu during the show. This kid wasn't messin' around.

The little family...RoRo already starting to get the "mid-afternoon-no-nap-daze" look.

Jack gives great birthday hugs.

Just sharing a few secrets about being "two" in the bushes.

The group on the move. This is literally how we had to move around the park. We could have demolished anything in our way if the need arose.

Who cares about the dolphins when you got cuties like this to look at?

RoRo, Shawn, Jack and Jason listening intently to what the dolphin had to say (btw: I am speculating that it went something like, "...be kind to the women in your life. They are the best things that have ever happened to you...")

Daddy got to give the dolphin a little love. It was all RoRo could talk about on the way home.

Roanin just throws his little fish at the dolphins.
Check out that little fish making its way into the mouth of the dolphin.

The ride home...please notice the plastic whale he has clutched between his fingers. Ahh....success.
Thanks for a great weekend Fishers! We love ya'll.
