Ist overnight

Well...we finally did it. It only took a year and a half, but Roanin had his first overnight stay at Grandmom and Papa's without his Mommy and Dada. Of course, we were (and by we I mean me and Shawn trying to act supportive) a mess upon leaving, but Roanin had a ball and was happy as he could be when we picked him up the next day. The night included a football game, dinner at his Aunt Damaris and Uncle David's house and a slumber party with his cousin Sophie. Man...come to think of it...maybe we should have stayed with the little man and joined in the festivities. Warming up with Papa before the game.
Just playing a little rhythm and blues with Danielle. You know...a standard Friday night.

The clan at the game.

The next morning: "What do you mean my parents aren't here?"

Papa telling a HILARIOUS joke to the little man in his ear.

Sharing lap time with Sophie (look at those adorable cheeks...ugh!).

What the heck are those little yellow things on your pjs?Story time (Sophie more interested in my dad's face and Roanin looking as if they are reading The Shining.)
Now they are gettin' into it...

Afternoon with Grandmom and Papa

We spent this last Friday afternoon at my parent's house, which is always fun for Mr. Man. This day was particularly fun given it included a puppy and a football game. Roanin's newest obsession with throwing rocks in the pond often includes this bossy little look which simply means, "You throw this one. Now." Meeting the stray puppy Grandmom found on their road. Roanin immediately decided a hug was in order.
A little quality time for the two by the water.

Howling at Papa's tricks during dinner. You rarely get to see his dimples on film...so I decided to include this one.Little Man at his two oldest cousin's football game. Congrats to DJ and Derrick on the win.
Much of the game included an serious Nerf game between me and Roanin on the handicap ramp.

The other portion of the game was spent this way....facing the opposite way of the field and laughing hysterically at Papa and Danielle.

Little Irish looks like he is singing a drunken Irish tune here.

Not any better for either of us here.....ugh.
Thanks for the great evening Grandmom and Papa!

Bye Bye Mr. Highchair

Roanin has given up the highchair....and now resides in a booster chair during mealtimes. Just wanted to update you on the LITTLE MAN we are now raising.

No Tricks...All Treats

We had a blast on Halloween night. Mr. Roanin dressed as a court jester. The entire night, Shawn kept telling Roanin to tell us a joke. My sister, Damaris, put on quite a trick-or-treat extravaganza in downtown Clifton...and we all got in on the action. Although there were a few tears shed on the way to the event due to Daddy having to put on Roanin's "Jester Shoes," he shortly recovered after figuring out there was going to be people giving him candy. I apologize in advance for the overkill on pictures. But honestly, how often do you see a jester this cute?

The fam getting in on the action. My dad asked me if I was dressed as a hooker because of my knee high socks. Really? The bar must have really been lowered recently for hooker attire.

Daddy coaching RoRo on ultimate candy retrieval technique.
Papa, Danielle, the jester, & Dada.

Practicing the candy technique from earlier. Seems to be successful.

Danielle, RoRo and who is that foxy lady?

This is Roanin's courtesy smile (in order to move on to the trick or treating more quickly).

The end of the evening - we let him into the candy and there was no more interest in walking and begging for more....just eating.
Happy Halloween!! Thank you to Nana for the cute costume and thanks to Grandmom for taking all the pictures. We love you guys!

Halloweeny Lunch

Before the long awaited night of trick or treating...the three of us met for a picnic lunch on Halloween. Just wanted to show off the hand-made little shirts I made for Roanin and I (Dad saved his for the evening festivities). Roanin - "I thought you said candy would be involved...I don't see any."Chasin' my little man...he is getting quite quick.

I modeled the jack-o-lantern on his shirt after his own little grin.

Roanin sharing a raspberry with his favorite picnic partner.
Halloween night pics to follow!
