Happy Birthday to our little Sweet Potato

Happy Birthday Ro Ro! Roanin Luke Dunsmore is turning ONE today. We feel so blessed to have such a precious little boy in our lives. He is a dream come true. After praying for 10 full months, we could have never imagined such a beautiful, smart, caring, hilarious, perfect baby. Everyday of the last year has been amazing and better than either Shawn or I could have ever wished for. We are excited to watch Roanin in all the years ahead of us. He never ceases to amaze us. We love you so much Roanin. Thank you for allowing us the amazing job of being your parents.

Standing Up

Roanin has progressed to standing up by himself very quickly. One day he decided he could do it, and now he cannot be stopped. His favorite thing is for me to strip the bed down to the bottom sheet and let him get up to practice standing up on the mattress. He is hilarious. These pictures are actually from about 3 weeks ago, so he is much better at it now, but I thought these pictures gave a good depiction of the action I get to experience everyday. Walking is right around the corner...YIKES!
The beginning...

Moving from four limbs to two...

"I'm up, Mommy!"

Dramatic dismount (of course...he is Sarah's child...what else would you expect?!?!?)
Resting after all the action."Wanna see me do it again?"

Happy Easter, Easter Bunny

Easter was fun this year (compared to last year when Roanin was only a few days old) for the entire family. Although it was a little cold (and our church had a white tent service OUTSIDE) we had fun doing our Easter basket and hunt in the living room. Not a huge fan of the crafty bunny ears that Mommy insisted he wear.
He got these cute little sunglasses in his Easter basket. They were a cute idea, but he doesn't like them and he looks more and more like a gay golfer when I look at these pictures.
Seriously...Elton John....I am not sure he will be wearing these again.

Getting ready for church.

Don't worry...both RoRo and Mommy eventually put on shoes to go to church.

Roanin loved the plastic eggs...I didn't even have to put anything in them because he was just thrilled with the egg itself.
Daddy not to be outdone by Roanin.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is a big deal at our house (given that I am married to Shawn PATRICK Dunsmore - it doesn't get more Irish than that). We had a special lunch together with the three of us, and Roanin had several people trying to take him up on the offer on his shirt. We took a few minutes to photograph our wee little Leprechaun once we got home...My two little Irishmen.
Roanin was too busy singing a drunken Irish song by this time.

Aunt Steph

Stephanie came by to visit Roanin (and his Mommy) this past week. Roanin loved getting some snuggles and his bottle from his Aunt Steph.

A little love from Aunt Steph... Whatch you talkin' bout Steph?

Roanin modeling his "Air Force" sweatshirt from Uncle Josh and Aunt Krista.

Also note he is sitting in the little rocking chair that was mine (Sarah) as a child. He is obsessed with it and forces me to rock him in it several times a day.

Texas Snow

Although Roanin is a pro at snow (from living in Idaho), he was shocked and excited about the white landscape this morning. We had to get a few pictures before Dad left for work. Daddy and Roanin

The horses enjoying the snow.

The boys...

Early morning hair for both of us (good thing Roanin's is covered up).

later in the morning...

1st Date

Roanin had his first date on Wednesday. He and I met his newest little friend, Ellie, and her mom at the zoo for some animal watching. It was such nice weather...we all had fun. I was a little nervous about placing Ellie in Roanin's stroller right next to him (within clawing, scratching, and smacking distance), but they did just great! I should have had more faith in little RoRo....he was on his first date after all. That little smirk is cute now...but if he gives me that same smirk when he is 17 and with a girl - it will be another story. Just playin' it cool.

Worn out...they could only handle so many elephants and monkeys.

Easter Bunny Comes Early

This morning, Professor brought up a little gift...a baby bunny. To our shock, he didn't hurt it at all - just placed it on his bed on the front porch. I am trying to save him (he is so small, I think he still needs to be with his Mommy) so I am attempting to feed him kitten formula with a little nursing bottle. We'll keep ya posted. Happy Early Easter!!

Jaycie's 1st Birthday

Roanin recently went to the birthday party of his newest friend, Jaycie. It was really fun...Roanin was the only boy out of the kids his age, so he was having a blast. Here are a few pictures from the fun.Roanin riding the little pony they had for the kids at the party.
Roanin borrowing Dad's cowboy hat in order impress the birthday girl.

The happy family.

Roanin monopolizing the present opening. I really had to hold him back from actually opening the gifts FOR Jaycie. Notice all the little girls....Roanin loved it.
