Goodbye Good Friend

Two days after this picture was taken, our precious little Wyatt was killed by a car on a road by our house. Although we are heartbroken, we know he lived a wonderful life and died doing what he loved most -- hunting. We loved him so much and will miss him dearly.

The Phipps come to visit

The Phipps came to see us at our new house and we had a good afternoon with them. The kids were so patient with little Roanin...we all went down to the river and got to just hang out for a while.

Brendan held Roanin for a while -- he was so good with him, despite Roanin's protests.

The new place...

Well...we finally made the journey to the new house in Texas. We arrived from Idaho to find temperatures in the high 70's within the first few days. What a shock....we were all breaking a little sweat, but enjoyed the change. The trip was fairly uneventful (as uneventful as moving 2 adults, 1 infant, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 horses across the country can be). We are glad to be in a place where we can finally settle down a little. Roanin did really well with the transition -- he seems to love his new room. Shawn, and Professor pushing Roanin on a little stroll down the driveway on our way to the river.
Roanin and Mommy at the river that is in walking distance of our new place. Roanin doing his version of exploring on the river....

I love my grandparents!!

Since the move to Texas, Roanin has gotten to enjoy both sets of grandparents. He has battled a little stranger anxiety, but has warmed up to both sets of grandparents. Of course, he still is a little scared of his Papa (Sarah's Dad) because he is so loud and crazy all the time.

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving Day together (just the three of us plus the herd of animals...) just hanging out, since it was Sarah and Roanin's last day in Pocatello and Shawn's 2nd to the last day. We went for a hike to take one last look at the city. It was so cold. Poor little Roanin's nose was so red by the time we got back to the truck. It was a good way to spend our last day together.

Roanin's 1st Halloween

Roanin's 1st Halloween was spent trick or treating in downtown Pocatello. He was looking more for smiles from ladies handing out candy, than the actual candy. He had a ball. The family.
"Are you kidding me? I already told you this suit is TOO SMALL......"

He got the hang of handling the candy very quickly. I could barely get the stuff away from him.

The best of friends

Roanin and Wyatt have become great buddies. They love to play together on Mom and Dad's bed first thing in the morning, and then take a little snooze together.

Sippee, Sippee...

I got Roanin his first sippee cup so that he can start to learn how to drink from it. He hasn't really gotten the hang of it quite yet, but he loves to throw it around. He has also started experimenting with some cookies and crackers. He gums them to death, and then throws them to Ickabod. Ick loves the routine. As you can see, he thinks the sippee cup should be upside down. There is no convincing him otherwise.

Our little pumpkin

Roanin is going to be a pumpkin for his 1st Halloween, but when we went to try it on a few days before the big reveal, we found out that his growth spurt had taken it's first victim -- his costume. The pumpkin suit is too small...but we shoved him into it for a few pictures in the yard with the fall leaves. Notice his sleeves are 3/4 length now. Hee, hee....our little giant.

Checking out the competition (other pumpkins...)

Mom...the sun is in my eyes.

Happy Pumpkin!

I'm CRAFTY!!

I recently got super-domestic and made my own babyfood out of treats from our garden. Roanin loves the fresh baby food! Watch out Martha..... Butternut squashApricot baby food from our tree.

Hello Fall!

Happy Fall everybody! We took Roanin to a little pumpkin patch to take some fall pictures. He was more interested in the straw and hay than the actual pumpkins. His best Pumpkin Grin. Deep in thought....

What a handsome little man.

Obsession with the straw.....
The ladies who owned this nursery were going nuts over Roanin while he was posing in front of this ghost "BOO" sign. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it out of there with the kid or not.

You have seen one pumpkin, you have seen them all. I'm bored with this Mom & Dad. Let's get outta here...

IT'S SNOWING!!!!

Roanin was out this morning enjoying his THIRD snowstorm so far in his life (if you can believe that -- and it is only October 6th!). It has been snowing really hard ever since we got up this morning, so we took the little guy out to enjoy it. We could barely get him to look at the camera...he was obsessed with the white flakes. Last Saturday it snowed pretty hard as well. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Baby blue eyes.

Just gettin' a ride from Professor (I think Roanin might have enjoyed it a little more than Professor).

Roanin recently graduated to a high chair to eat his cereal and baby food. He now eats rice, oatmeal, carrots, peas, squash and sweet potatoes. Fruits are next on the list!

Chunky!!!!
